About

The title refers to the Southern Lights—the mesmerizing, kinetic displays of light that illuminate the Antarctic skies during the winter months. These auroras are nature’s premier light show: a form of visual poetry written by the quantum leaps of atmospheric gases. This work seeks to capture that celestial drama, oscillating between moments of quiet, meditative stillness and bursts of violent, exuberant energy.
